About the event
From the Sydney Blues scene to the Cobargo Delta, and the Far South Coast, Damon's unique brand of Country Blues and beyond has graced audiences far and wide - from the Byron Bay Blues Festival in NSW, to the Bridgetown Blues Festival in WA, and the Port Fairy and National Folk Festivals in between.
Damon's three studio albums - Ride This Train (1995); Serious,Man (1997); and People With Oomph (2002), culminate in a live recording at the Dromedary Hotel, Central Tilba - Wild and Wooly (2003).
Damon was awarded Best Male Artist at the Australian Blues Awards 1997, and Serious,Man was awarded Best Australian Blues Album in the Rhythms Magazine Readers' Poll. "Hesitation Blues" gained National ABC Local Radio airplay and was included, along with others, in several compilation CDs.
Damon has opened for and shared the stage with with numerous International acts including Rory McCleod, Kristina Olsen, Cephas and Wiggins. He was as featured in ABC TV series "Blues at Bridgetown" and spent two years co-hosting a half hour live radio show, "South East Sounds" featuring local and touring acts, on South East Regional Radio.
And now Damon is working with partner Zoey Pepper on a duo project, Pepper & Davies, broadening an already stylistically expansive repertoire and opening new creative possibilities.
As a soloist, Damon captures the attention of audiences through his unique rhythmic slide guitar and fingerpicking style, endearing vocals, honest originals and, of course, some crowd-pleasing covers, along with a crowd-pleasing attitude.
